Schedule an inspection

A run is one execution of a template. Once scheduled, it lives in the Inspections list with status Scheduled until someone conducts it.

  1. From the sidebar, open Inspections.
  2. Click + Inspection. The schedule dialog opens.
  3. Pick a Template from the dropdown.
  4. Adjust the Title (auto-fills from the template name) — for example “Monthly walkthrough — May 2026”.
  5. Pick the Site.
  6. Set the Scheduled date.
  7. Pick the Inspector.
  8. Click Schedule.

The run appears in the list with status Scheduled and BRAG green (if it’s not too soon) or amber (if it’s within 7 days).

This is configurable per org — see Adjust BRAG thresholds.

To move the date:

  1. Open the run.
  2. Switch to the Schedule tab.
  3. Edit the scheduled date.
  4. Save.

The audit log captures the change, including who moved it and when.

Most inspections run on a cadence — a monthly walkthrough, a quarterly audit. Set this up with the Repeat options in the schedule dialog (or later on the run’s Assign tab):

  • FrequencyDoes not repeat (default), Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and so on.
  • Basisfixed schedule (anchor) keeps the cadence pinned to the original date; after completion (recent) counts from the day you actually finish the last run. Fixed schedule is usual for a regular walkthrough.

A recurring inspection advances when you complete the current run: SteadyOn closes it and creates the next run automatically. The successor is a fresh, blank run cloned from the same template — the same sections and items, with every result cleared, ready to conduct. You can also skip an occurrence (the series continues) or cancel it (the series ends).

In the Inspections list, recurring runs show a Repeat column with the cadence and occurrence number (e.g. Monthly · #4), and past occurrences are hidden behind a “show past” toggle. The detail page steps through the series with ← Previous / Next →. For the full model, see Recurring items.
